I'm also posting this for Smartthings users so they can avoid the hours of frustration I went through trying to diagnose and fix my app problems. I'm posting this as a heads up for the Adguard company so hopefully they can whitelist the appropriate IPs for the Smartthings app. I much prefer using the Custom DNS rather than the app, and while the Adguard app would allow me to whitelist the Smartthings app, Chrome browsing seems slow with the Adguard app. It took awhile to figure it out, but the cause of the non-wifi loss of functionality/connectivity was the Custom DNS of Adguard. When I reconnected to a wifi connection at my gym, the app functioned again. However, when I left the house and relied on my T-Mobile (USA) data connection, functionality was lost. While at home on wifi, everything functioned fine. I never tried Adguard for Android before but when I installed the app yesterday I noticed that the app installed a CA Certificate in my phone which allowes the app to read all the requests made by my phone in web browsers (even in Https websites).
I therefore switched/upgraded(?) to Samsung's regular Smartthings app recently. Everything worked fine on Smartthings Classic with the Adguard Custom DNS. I used to have Samsung Smartthings Classic app installed, but Samsung is killing it off. Check the logs of the ' AdGuard Home ' to see if everything went well.

You pick Adguard you can't use the NordVPN client to connect to a server. Since Android will not allow you to use two local VPNs on an unrooted phone, that means you either root your phone or pick one of the two VPN's. But then you go on to say use the local VPN option. so can replace with third party apps such as vanced, puretuber or use browser with adblock. I love using a Custom DNS of on my Pixel 2 XL with Android 10 (stock, unrooted). For No.1, Some apps able to use ad-blocking DNS server (such as pi-hole, nextdns, adguard dns) to block AD directly.
